Knowing About Us

Omnitech is known for understanding technology. That is good since we provide our clients with solutions based on the best technology available. We also understand business. In fact you could say that if the very best technology is not coupled with and supported by a solid understanding of how business functions – you may have little more than a expensive line item on the IT department’s budget.

Our focus on technology is our core. Surrounding that core is a depth of business knowledge which allows us to ensure that the business need drives the technology solution. In simple terms, we do not bring a technology hammer to every problem and simply pound anything which stands in the way. Rather, we bring an understanding of what technology can do and how it may be used to support and enhance business processes, making our clients more profitable in the long term.

Our employees and owners have professional backgrounds and skill-sets as varied as the individuals themselves. We have degrees and certifications in IT (of course) but also in accounting, finance, business, communications, etc. Some of us have been at Omnitech since its inception – others of us have collected experience with a number of companies before settling here.

When we establish a relationship with a client, one of our stated goals is that we come to understand the client’s business (or that part of the business with which we are working) better than anyone outside of the client’s company. Why do we do this? We do this because we believe that a failure to properly understand the business context of anything we bring will, at minimum, cause unnecessary headaches and misunderstandings. In more extreme cases, if we do not understand the business context, we might be proposing or providing a technology solution which is completely wrong for the client – and that is something we have no desire to do.

Promoting Efficiency

At Omnitech, our motto is “Taking you to your vision.” We understand that visions vary quite a bit. If you are a bank, your vision may include growing a handful of locations into a network that covers the entire Midwest region. Perhaps you are an online retailer who is looking to take your company from a niche provider into one which markets and sells a much broader variety of goods. Maybe you just need to ensure that your employees are booking time to the correct projects so you can bill your client expeditiously and accurately. Whatever the particular vision is, we are confident that we can help you realize it.

Chances are good these days that your vision is based on increasing your company’s efficiency. When the economy is growing at double digits annually and your sales are through the proverbial roof, efficiency may not be part of your vision – after all, you are doing well without it, right? However, when times are tough, when we are all living a little closer to the bone, increasing your efficiency provides you with a solid basis for continued growth when things improve. The last thing our clients want to do is to lay off employees and contract the business.

Fortunately, we are in the efficiency business. It is almost always easier to save more than it is to make more – particularly in a down economy such as we are facing right now. When we work with you to understand your business, we also come to understand what makes your business unique as well as what makes it profitable and helps to set it apart from the competition. When we partner with you to figure out where we can help make your processes more efficient, we keep those business-defining things in mind – making sure that as we help you wring the most value from what you have that we do not lose the things which make your business work. In other words, we help you achieve your vision without ignoring, downplaying or discounting the benefits of where you find yourself right now.
